Nascar
NASCAR is the acronym for National Association for Stock Car Racing. Owing to the fact that the cars used in NASCAR are actually stock racing cars, NASCAR is categorized in the stock car racing group. NASCAR attracts the greatest number of audience in motor sports racing in America. Not just in the United States, NASCAR is one of the most popular sports in the entire world. It is shown in more than one hundred and fifty countries all over the world. Not surprisingly, NASCAR is the second top regular-season sport that is broadcasted on television.
NASCAR was started by Bill France Sr. on February 21st, 1948. In the initial stage, there were three divisions, namely Modifiers, Roadsters, and Strictly Stock. Jim Roper was the winner of the very first race in the “strictly stock” division. It was organized at a dirt track three fourth of a mile long known as the Charlotte Speedway. This division has now grown out to become the NEXTEL Cup that we are familiar with now.

NASCAR is further divided into three major auto racing series, namely the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, the NASCAR Busch Series, and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In addition to this, NASCAR also has eight more regional series. There is even a local grassroots racing series. Over a hundred tracks in thirty five states all over United States, Canada, and Mexico hold NASCAR races.
Some of the names of these tracks include Las Vegas NASCAR, Bristol Motor Speedway, Milwaukee, Chicagolang Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Daytona Beach, Dover, Fontana, Atlanta Motor Speedway Homestead, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indianapolis’ O’Reilly Raceway park, as well as Kansas City, Kentucky NASCAR, Madison, Mansfield, Lowe’s Motor Speedway at Charlotte Martinsville, Sonoma, Memphis, Mexico City, Michigan, , Montreal, Nashville, New Hampshire, Pocono, Richmond, Sonoma, Talladega, Phoenix, Texas and Watkins Glen.

The NASCAR website, nascar.com contains the most recent news on NASCAR sporting events including up–to-the-minute coverage, statistics about racers and their teams, events, videos and the pictures of the racing stars.
