Nascar Rules

As most of the sports in this world are, NASCAR is also accompanied by its set of rules. All the NASCAR racecar drivers and teams must abide by the NASCAR rules. There are various reasons for the existence of these rules. The basic rules of NASCAR are there to prevent the drivers from cheating and avoiding any undue advantage to a certain driver. Furthermore, it assists the drivers in the sense that all are aware that everyone is on the same track and prevents any needless confusion of what they are supposed to be doing and of what is the responsibility of the others. Moreover, the NASCAR rules also make that the best and the most deserving drivers win the race. All the officials and the racecar drivers who are a part of the NASCAR race are aware of the official rules of NASCAR. All the drivers must do their best to remember the entire NASCAR rule book to make sure that they do not break any. This also helps in making the race a success, as everyone loves a fair race.

According to the former NASCAR rules, the winner of every race is awarded at least one hundred and ninety points. Of the one hundred and ninety points, one hundred and eighty five are awarded for winning and five points are awarded for triumphing in at least one of the laps. The drivers do not need to win all the laps to be declared the winner of the entire race. Despite all these facts, many fans and race car drivers do not like the NASCAR rules. In fact, many of them openly complain about them. For example, the fact that the racer who finishes second can still earn as many points as the racer who has finishes first, is something that many do no approve of. To calm these protests, there have been a few NASCAR rule changes. In the 2005 NASCAR rule book had a few changes in which the winner was given five extra points. In the 2007 NASCAR rule book, some additional variations were made by which the winner was awarded an extra five points. The 2007 NASCAR rule changes allowed the winner of the race to earn an additional ten points more than the next placer to make sure that the winner had the same number of points. There are also NASCAR rules and regulations for specific drivers and team owners. For example, the rules allow for substitute drivers to take over if the original drivers suffer from any kind of injury or exhaustion. The car owners are awarded the same number of points as the drivers. Even if the car does not qualify further, the owners are still awarded points on the basis of their performance.

The NASCAR rules for car setup are decided by owner points. Also these rules decide on the pole positions of the cars in the competition. Owing to the racing series that is being held, the NASCAR regulations keep changing. Until the year 1998, according to the NASCAR official rule books, the winners in the Busch racing series could not win more than one hundred and eighty points. However, with the passage of time, new NASCAR rules have come into effect which award more points.

The NASCAR rule changes have made the NASCAR sport even more exciting to watch and experience. Although many might still be unhappy with the NASCAR racing rules, no one can deny that they have improved significantly in recent years.
