Nascar Qualifying

It is not hard to come across people, especially youngsters who are highly keen to join motor racing. However, what they want and what they get are two different things. There is a lot of competition in NASCAR, and only the very best are selected to compete in this prestigious race. NASCAR has its unique set of NASCAR qualifying rules which it requires for all the drivers to pass in order for them to compete in the race.

The NASCAR qualifying rules decide the starting lineups for the NASCAR races every week. Once the racers meet the qualifying times, they are then taken into account for the NASCAR qualifying. This might sound quite easy but it is actually quite a puzzling process.

In order to determine which driver goes first, all the teams send their representatives to a draw in which all of them are allotted a haphazard number. This number determines the order by which the drivers will participate in the NASCAR qualifying list. Many say that luck is the greatest determinant of the result of NASCAR qualifiers. The track start to get cool as the late afternoon arrives. This results in the increase in speed for the cars that race during this time. Therefore, if you have gotten a higher number, you have an added advantage over the other drivers.

The drivers have a chance to race in two NASCAR qualifying lap. The better of the two results is then taken into consideration for the driver which is also called his or her official NASCAR qualifying time. The drivers participating in the live NASCAR qualifying laps often use certain tricks to make sure that they get the better result. Often they do not give much importance to the first lap by keeping the car zooming past the outside wall. By doing this, the added time causes the speed of the engine to increase. This allows the driver to finish the second lap with a much higher speed that he had in the first lap. The tricks used by the drivers are different when the qualifying rounds are organized at abrasive tracks like Darlington. When racing at such tracks, the drivers give the first laps their very best shot as it is during the first lap that their speed is the fastest. In the second lap, the speed tends to lower down. Once they have managed their best speed in the first lap, they do not bother with the second lap. Who knows what could go wrong and there is no point in taking a risk when it is not required.

In the NASCAR Nextel cup qualifying rounds, it is the length of the time taken to finish the fastest lap that is taken into consideration. The speed of the car is considered secondary. The timing of each lap is determined electronically at a very high accuracy to a thousandth of a second. In case of a tie, the winner is the team with more car owner points.

If you want to become a part of NASCAR, you must first qualify for it. If you want to qualify for it, you first need to participate in the NASCAR qualifying round. The qualifying rounds are not exactly NASCAR but some people still like watching it as it gives them a chance to see the new talent that is about to enter the race. This is very much like going to see the minor leagues in baseball. The NASCAR qualifying round is the first step for getting into NASCAR. If you do not make it here, you cannot compete in NASCAR. Therefore, if you do want to make for yourself a name in NASCAR, you better take NASCAR qualify rounds very seriously.
