Nascar Cheating
Like all the sports in the world, NASCAR also has some cheating going on. When we speak of NASCAR cheating, we do not specifically refer to unethical mediums to win the race. In fact, NASCAR cheating is when the drivers use various mediums and tricks to try to get ahead of their opponents participating in the race. If you are thinking on how to cheat at NASCAR, then this article has been written for you.
Cheating in NASCAR is done through several ways by the many car technicians and crew chiefs. Their main aim behind all this is to make sure that their car manages to acquire the highest speed on the track. At times, they are able to come up with very unique ideas. To prevent unfair advantages of one team over the other, the authorities make sure that all the cars are inspected thoroughly before they enter the race and even after they finish it. There are specific rules regarding the car sizes, shapes, and weights.
Improving the aerodynamics of the car, escalating the quantity of oxygen that goes into the carburetor and enhancing the fuel capacity of the car are some of the things involved in NASCAR crew chief cheating. Rolling up the front window of the NASCAR car is an example of NASCAR cheating. According to the law, the NASCAR driver must make sure that his or her car’s front window is properly closed to make sure that he or she could be taken out easily in case an accident occurs. By rolling up the front window, the driver decreases the quantity of wind that will enter the car. As wind creates a drag, this will reduce it to an extent. However, the NASCAR drivers are quite intelligent as they roll down the front windows every time an official from NASCAR comes within their sight. They are always a step ahead of the authorities.

Tinkering the size and shapes of the stock car’s spoiler is another one of the many examples of cheating in NASCAR. Very often the crew chiefs tend to create the spoilers higher than the limit to increase the down force of the car. They have been penalized for this cheating on several occasions. However, with more strict rules, the NASCAR cheaters have also developed ways to fool the authorities and inspection officers. They have come up with spoilers made out of special material that tends to alter in shape when the car is moving at a high velocity. Vice versa, when the speed decreases, the spoiler goes back to its initial shape and size.
The Michael Waltrip cheating in NASCAR is by far the biggest cheating episode. He is referred to as the biggest cheater in NASCAR. This cheating episode made Michael Waltrip so humiliated that he almost decided not to take part in the Daytona 500 preparations. Another reason for his embarrassment was that NASCAR authorities punished him by taking out two very vital members of his crew as they believed them responsible for the fuel additive in Michael’s car fuel. Michael had won the Daytona 500 race twice before. Fortunately the officials from Toyota and his wife were able to convince him to take his decision back and resume his participation in the competition. Even though the Toyota officials were not pleased by his cheating episode as it also gave them a bad name, they were anxious to have him back in the competition.
The only way cheating could be completely eliminated from the NASCAR race is when every one takes it about themselves to make it their responsibility to play fair and to report any cheating incident that they ever come across. Even if it is a team member who is involved in cheating. If that is not done, the menace of cheating in NASCAR would become too impossible to control.
